Botox® Injections
Now, thanks to a new use for an approved drug, dynamic lines can be dramatically softened. The procedure known as cosmetic denervation uses Botox® injections to improve the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. Botox blocks impulses from the nerve to the tiny facial muscles that are related to expression lines. Botox® relaxes the muscles so they do not contract. After treatment, the overlying skin remains smooth and unwrinkled, while the untreated facial muscles contract in a normal fashion, allowing normal facial expression to be unaffected. Because Botox® injections cannot improve severe wrinkles or deep folds, the procedure is often combined with hyaluronic acid fillers (Juvederm® or Restylane®) or plastic surgery for a more satisfying and longer-lasting outcome.
Hyaluronic Acid Fillers
Restylane® and Juvederm® are designed to smooth wrinkles, sculpt lips and shape facial contours. The hyaluronic acid fillers are a clear gel composed of hyaluronic acid, a natural substance that is found throughout your body. This synthetic acid carries no risk of allergic reaction. The most common areas for treatment are the glabellar lines (between the eyebrows), lips, and the nasolabial folds (from the root of the nose to the angle of your mouth). With their unique ability to bind with water, hyaluronic acid fillers remain in your skin for up to a year in many patients.
EpiLight® Hair Removal System
Using advanced pulsed light technology, the non-invasive EpiLight® Hair Removal System swiftly and painlessly removes hair of all colors from any area of the body, including the face (chin, upper lip, cheeks, nose, ears), legs, arms, underarms, back, chest, or bikini line. In a series of sessions (usually lasting 15-45 minutes), the skin is coated with a cool gel before the EpiLight® hand-held treatment unit is touched to it. Pulses of light loosen hairs from their follicles beneath the skin's surface. Much of the hair can be wiped off along with the gel when the procedure is over; most of the rest falls out on its own within a week or two. Regular activities can be resumed immediately, including going to work, although the skin should be kept out of direct sunlight at first.
IPL Fotofacial
Fotofacial is a non-abrasive and non-invasive rejuvenation of your skin using the remarkable new technology of Intense Pulsed Light (IPL). IPL Fotofacials can improve the signs of sun damage, rosacea and brown spots on the face, hands and body. It has also been used to reduce the appearance of mild acne scars and fine lines around the eyes and mouth.
The IPL Fotofacial handpiece is gently pressed to the skin and painless pulses of light are emitted. Usually 4-6 treatment sessions lasting about 20 minutes each will provide you with beautiful results.
There is no recuperation time with an IPL Fotofacial you can return to work or resume your normal activities on the same day. You will notice a gradual, natural-looking improvement in your skin with time. IPL is a safe solution tailor-made to your skin type and condition.
